Toon Boom Announces Harmony 14 at MIFA

Today, Toon Boom Animation announced the upcoming release of Harmony 14 at MIFA. Available in three editions – Essentials, Advanced and Premium – Harmony is the most powerful solution for artists creating feature films, episodic series, games, webisodes, and explainer videos.

“Harmony 14 is the best release to date. We’ve made user-requested enhancements and heightened 3D integration, enabling the creation of projects that, in the past, were too complex or costly to produce. This version includes powerful tools for drawing, painting and animating which allow artists to create work in any artistic style they choose. We are also expanding our global reach and meeting our users’ needs by now offering all three editions of Harmony in Spanish,” said Francisco Del Cueto, Toon Boom Animation CTO.

The Toon Boom team at MIFA will be showing product demonstrations of Harmony 14 June 15 – 17, 2016.

Mr Seed

FastCocreate has an article up about the reasoning behind this short film Mr Seed which talks about GMO farms and a healthier food system.

“Mr. Seed” is a five-minute animated short starring comedian Pete Holmes as an organic seed who goes on a cuss-filled rant on why you should consider more research on organic seed and be a bit more wary of the “GMO bros.” Chances are you’ve never thought about the sensual side of replicating drought-tolerant traits, either. Created by Austin-based agency The Butler Bros, and animation company Buck, it’s an unconventional swing to get people talking about seed. The Butler Bros. founder and strategic chief Adam Butler says Seed Matters wanted to leaven the conversation around seed, and help it become more important among people already engaged in the conversation about our food system.

Mtv has an interesting article up called 11 SECRETS YOU NEVER KNEW ABOUT ANIMANIACS, PINKY & THE BRAIN, AND FREAKAZOID!

Tom Ruegger, the 14-time Emmy Award winner, who also created Tiny Toon Adventures, Road Rovers, Histeria!, and is currently the showrunner for Disney’s The 7D, recently did a Reddit AMA to celebrate the fact that you can now stream Animaniacs on Netflix.

Having worked on Animaniacs, as well as Pinky and the Brain, I can say that Tom Ruegger was one of the most talented individuals I ever had the fortune of working with. Incidentally Tom Ruegger was kind enough to do an interview with us years back.

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Ronald Wimberly but some folk call me DÏ€. I’m an artist. Right now I am designing characters for a Black Dynamite animated series to premiere on Adult Swim in July. I am also dropping a original graphic novel from Vertigo in September called Prince of Cats.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
 I didn’t have any crazy jobs really. I’ve been everything from a lumberyard worker to an arcade attendant (arcades are what we had before online gaming). The most unlikely job was security/bag check at a record store on st. marks. I literally stood on a box to appear more imposing.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
 I’m new to the animation game, but I am very proud to cut my teeth on black dynamite. Pause.
