Today and tomorrow at Comic-Con® International: San Diego 2014 Cartoon Network will host jam-packed panels for all their hit original comedy animated series.  Amongst the surprises and hilarity of Comic-Con and coming on the heels of ratings and critical success around the world, the Network will announce Season 7 of the Emmy®-winning Adventure Time, Season 7 of the Emmy®-winning Regular Show, Season 2 of the Emmy®-winning Uncle Grandpa, Season 2 of Steven Universe and 13 more half hours of Clarence.  Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe and Clarence originate from the prolific artist-driven Cartoon Network Shorts Program at Cartoon Network Studios.

“We have created global momentum with this group of home-grown series,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network.  “Our commitment to keeping all of these comedies going strong is a reflection of our continued belief in the impressive creative talent powering them.”

What time is it?  Just nominated for a 2014 Primetime Emmy® Cartoon Network is happy to announce that pop cultural phenomenon Adventure Time will be back for a seventh season.  New episode premieres from Adventure Time’s Season 6-to-date have averaged almost 2.9 million Persons age 2+, nearly 1.4 million kids 2-11 and more than 1.0 million kids 6-11.  Adventure Time’s unlikely heroes Finn and Jake are buddies who traverse the mystical Land of Ooo and encounter its colorful inhabitants. Adventure Time is created by Pendleton Ward and is produced at Cartoon Network Studios.  Currently in Season 6, Adventure Time airs Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. (ET/ PT).

It’s been a “Good Morning” for Uncle Grandpa!  Season 2 of the Emmy®-winning show (recently announced individual achievement winner Nick Edwards for Character Design) has been greenlit.  All new episodes of Uncle Grandpa will commence Thursday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/ PT).  The new episodes will also feature great guest stars, including hip hop legend Tone Loc, wrestling icon Ric Flair and comedian Ken Marino.  Uncle Grandpa debuted in September 2013 and quickly became a ratings success.  Ranked #1 on Mondays among kids 6-11 and boys 2-11 & 6-11, and #1 in its 8 p.m. timeslot among all key kids and boys.  Across first quarter 2014, Uncle Grandpa claimed the #1 program on Tuesdays among boys 6-11.  Uncle Grandpa is created by Pete Browngardt with Audie Harrison (The Golden Compass) serving as creative director.

Steven may not be as powerful as the Crystal Gems.  Or as savvy.  And he may not have much control over his powers.  But that doesn’t stop him from joining Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl on their magical adventures and somehow finding a way to save the day!  New episodes of Steven Universe are back at 6:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Thursday August 21 on Cartoon Network and the premiere episode “Coach Steven” will feature guest voice Nicki Minaj.  Across an average week, Steven Universe reaches 4,962,000 total viewers P2+, 2,311,000 kids 2-11 and 1,737,000 kids 6-11.

Continue to celebrate the best of childhood: epic dirt fights, awkward crushes, trampoline combat, sleepover pranks and secret tree forts with more Clarence. News: Kidscreen Awards 2015 official call for entry

Kidscreen Awards 2015

Kidscreen Awards 2015 official call for entry

NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES!

Programming Categories deadline: September 19
Broadcasting Categories deadline: October 31

July 18, 2014: Heading into its sixth year of singling out and celebrating the year’s best kids programming and broadcasting work, Kidscreen Awards 2015 is now accepting entries.

Early-Bird Entry Fees are in effect again this year to reward companies that complete their entries well before deadline.

New this year, we have added a Programming Category for Best New Animation to call special attention to outstanding kids shows that have launched in the last year. And we have also retired Best Companion Website due to overlap with a similar category in our iKids Awards set.

So in our 2015 Programming Category lineup, television shows targeting Preschoolers (0 to 5), Kids (6 to 10) and Tweens/Teens (11 to 17) can be put in the running to win these prizes:

  • Best New Series
  • Best Animated Series
  • Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series
  • Best One-off, Special or TV Movie

Early-Bird Entry Fee (until August 15): US$300
After August 15: US$400

Winners will again be chosen by juries of highly respected entertainment professionals, who will also single out programs that merit special Creative Talent Awards for Animation, Directing, Voice Talent, Writing, Music, Design and Acting.

And in our Broadcasting Categories, dedicated kids channels and strands from around the world can compete for the following Kidscreen Awards:

  • Channel of the Year

Early-Bird Entry Fee (until September 19): US$500
After September 19: US$700

  • Best Channel Design
  • Best Channel Website
  • Best Interstitial Campaign
  • Best Integrated Promotion
  • Best On-Air Host or Hosting Team

Early-Bird Entry Fee (until September 19): US$250
After September 19: US$350

Entries in these streams will be shortlisted by Kidscreen’s esteemed editorial team, and the final winners determined by an industry vote open to the magazine’s 10,000-plus readers.

Winners in all categories will be announced at an evening presentation event as part of next year’s Kidscreen Summit, which is set to take place in Miami from February 23 to 26. All Kidscreen Summit delegates will be invited to attend the ceremony and cocktail party as part of their event experience, after registering online at summit.kidscreen.com. And other guests can sign up to attend just the Kidscreen Awards event for $150, beginning in January.

Detailed information on eligibility, judging and entering can be found at awards.kidscreen.com. The deadline for entries in the Programming Categories is September 19, and the Broadcasting Categories entry window closes a little later on October 31.
