What is your name and your current occupation?
Hi! My name is Ersi Spathopoulou, and right now I’m working as a conceptual artist for a 2d animation educational game, called “Run Marco” and developed by allcancode team, www.allcancode.com

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I worked as an assistant theater stage designer right after finishing my studies. But that ain’t really crazy..is it? L. Sorry, no crazy stories here! Stage design was more like a first step required by my “fate” of ending up in the animation industry, working as a background painter.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?Most definitely the website at www.animad.gr, which was created by animad team, of which I was a co-founder. And right now, my favorite project is the “Run Marco” educational game that makes me really proud of being a member and co-founder of the allcancode team. You should check out both!

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Friedl Jooste and I am currently a lead animator at Sunrise Productions.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I was a cashier at a toy shop for a day and then did data capturing for a power company, not the most fun I have ever had.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?I’ve worked on a couple films, especially the ones I got to work on in Canada was a great experience, but the projects I’m most proud of are the smaller ones where I got to have more of a creative roll, for instance Hooked, a short film I wrote and directed for Character Matters animation studios.  I’m also very proud to be animating on the third season of Jungle beat for Sunrise Productions. It is the first Jungle Beat season to be fully created in South Africa and they have managed to put together a very talented group of people. I cant wait for season three to be released it is looking beautiful and the stories are great!

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is David Yarr and I am a 3D artist or say a Generalist.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
This is a funny question and I like it a lot. Well the craziest job I had was in my early twenties when I was a roof carpenter working up high. Everyday working on that height moving fast on a piece of wood trying to keep the body in balance. The chance of falling down was about 99.9 percent. I myself got close to fall three times but somehow managed to keep it in balance. I guess when you work in hard situations your brain develops some kind of intelligence to avoid accidents. I did that job for two years and still love to try it only once.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
In animation I would say none so far because I work in commercial animation and most of the time the deadlines are so tight you don’t even know to laugh about it or cry about it. But in oil painting I am proud that I painted a big version of Mona Lisa Cried on 9/11. It’s 36″x48″ oil on canvas. The idea behind it was when a plane hit the two twin towers in NY city, the tear of blood started to run down Mona Lisa’s chick in Louver Paris. I still have this big painting.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Let’s see: I was a Locksmith, I worked for UPS loading and unloading the trucks, I worked at In-N-Out Burgers, I drew maps for the Division Od Oil And Gas (oil fields,) for the State of California, I worked at a Mexican spices and candy factory, and I was in the U.S. Army for 10 years. Thank you Uncle Sam for paying for my College with the G.I. Bill!

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Dora The Explorer. I was hired to help in the re-design of the show, including developing the look for Diego, Go! Diego! The very successful spin-off show. I also Art Directed another spin-off from Dora The Explorer called Explorer Girls.

What is your name and your current occupation?
Tyree Morrow, Co-Founder, Character Designer, and Animator at Creative Overdose Studios.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation? 
I’m not sure if this is crazy but it was fun.  I was a candy cook at a candy store in Savannah.  I made salt water taffy, Pralines and caramel apples.  MMMMMMMMM!
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of? 
There are so many.  I’ve worked on a comic book series called “Animus”  where I was a character designer at Neo Gate Creations.  I’ve also worked on the re-release of “Titanic 3d” as a Rotokey animator for Dzignlight Studios.  Recently and the most fun project was helping develop the game “Stra-Tactics” for Grunt Corps.  My team and I were in charge of the animated cut scenes.  We had a lot of fun working on it and even got to play the beta version of the game.    The game is set for release in December.
How did you become interested in animation?
