The Animated Tales of GWAR!

P.S. If you don’t know who Gwar is…

From Wikipedia:

Gwar is a satirical heavy metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984. The band is well known for its elaborate science fiction/horror film inspired costumes, obscene lyrics and graphic stage performances, which feature humorous enactments of politically and morally taboo themes. You can read more about Gwar on Wikipedia

News: The History of English- Animated

Here’s a great piece about the history of the English language. It reminds me a bit of the old Monty Python animate bits. Enjoy!

From The Open University:

Where did the phrase ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing’ come from? And when did scientists finally get round to naming sexual body parts? Voiced by Clive Anderson, this entertaining romp through ‘The History of English’ squeezes 1600 years of history into 10 one-minute bites, uncovering the sources of English words and phrases from Shakespeare and the King James Bible to America and the Internet. Bursting with fascinating facts, the series looks at how English grew from a small tongue into a major global language before reflecting on the future of English in the 21st century.

News: Is Giant Folk Art Company Cody Foster Stealing From Small Artists?

ku-xlargeJezebel.com has an interesting story about Folk art company Cody Foster (which I’ve admitedly never heard of) stealing art from small companies and shows proof. So sad. Artists need to paid just like all other professionals yet big companies seem to feel that it’s okay to steal from them and rip them off.  This is NOT okay. have you been ripped off by a company? Sound off in the comments below.
