Ron Gilmore

What is your name and your current occupation?
Ron Gilmore, Computer Tech/Graphic Artist and Independent Animator.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I worked as a security guard at a church in downtown Los Angeles for a few months. A lot of interesting things happened there, but the incident that shocked me the most was when I caught a couple of homeless guys getting it on in the alley. I also worked for a furniture delivery company, which in itself isn’t crazy, except for the time I made a delivery to former NFL defensive-end-turned-actor, Bubba Smith. He got so angry with me that his hands were shaking when he told me to get out of his house.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m working with El Grupo 2D Animation and Story Workshop on a short film about a vampire dog called Nosfurratu. The workshop is headed by former Disney animator, Alex Topete and is comprised of animation students and industry professionals. The film is scheduled for a 2015 release.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I’m from a small town in Northern California called Redding. I’ve loved comic books and animation since I was a child and even fantasized that someday I would Continue reading

What is your name and your current occupation?
Jerry Hibbert. I have had a production company – Hibbert Ralph Animation – for many years but now really operate as a freelancer.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I did have one oddity: I was ‘knotter’ on a building site, putting glue on knots in wooden boards so they wouldn’t dry and fall out at a later date.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I have directed hundreds (maybe more than a thousand) of commercials so they all blend into one mass after a while. But the UK Famous Grouse campaign has been a good one, as were some of the title sequences I did with my partner Pat Gavin in the 1970s. I enjoyed animating the funny ones most. As an animator I always enjoyed people laughing at my character’s performance on screen. They never really realised it but it was my performance by proxy they were actually laughing at – and I loved that, and still do.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I’m from Oxford in England, and I went to art school in Continue reading

The project at Soft reset studio, I am in charge of all the art direction of the unannounced adventure game, there are a lot of talented people in the team and I am very proud to be a part of it and see the game develops from scratch to a near-prototype stage.

How did you become interested in animation?
Since I was a little kid, maybe 5 years old? I went to Beijing and watched the first “Toy Story”, and from that moment on; I fell in love with animations. Later on I started Continue reading

What is your name and your current occupation?
Rich Dickerson – Music Composer
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I played in a cover band for 12 years in the New York, tri-state area. I was the lead singer, sang three fifty minute sets a night, five to six nights a week. We had a huge sound system, light show, roadies, truck, manager, agent etc… Nothing in my life was crazier than those days. Someday I will write a book about it.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
What’s New Scooby Doo? is at the top because in addition to scoring the show which include multiple genres in each episode and writing the theme song I got to work with some great people at Warner Bros who I can call my friends to this day. I won an Emmy for writing the theme for ESPN’s animated, “Off Mikes” show – that was a total surprise. Was nominated for Cynopsis Kids Imagination Award for the “Yoohoo & Friends” Theme song. Shows like: “Yoohoo & Friends”, “Big Foot Little Foot”, “Action Dad”, “Lalaoopsies”, “Lala Girls”, “Where’s My Water?” “Julius Jr.” and “Dibo The Gift Giving Dragon” where all musically a lot of fun. Oh, and Icebox’s “Zombie College” because it was the first animation theme song I wrote and I got to sing it too!

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I am from Long Island New York. I was hired as VP of Music for the online animation network Icebox.com. I oversaw the music for 22 shows and was fortunate enough to Continue reading
