What is your name?
David Knott

What would you say has been your primary job in animation?
Supervising Director.  Although I’ve spent the better part of my career in Animation as a Storyboard Artist.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of? 
Kim Possible was a watershed show for me.  I grew exponentially as a board artist on that show, gaining valuable experience in boarding action sequences, which, up until then, I had not done much of.  This was also due in no small part to the series’ Director, Steve Loter, whom I consider to be one of my mentors.  He challenged me to get into the head of the characters and to make that inform whatever gags or actions I had them do.  I’m also indebted to him for turning me onto ʺCowboy Bebop.ʺThe other project that has stood out for me is the one I’ve been on for the last 3+ years, The Penguins of Madagascar.  Not only is it a challenging CG show involving cinematic action sequences, slapstick pantomime gags, and even heartfelt Continue reading

What is your name?
Stephen Nicodemus

What would you say has been your primary job in animation?
I have primarily been a background painter for most of my animation career although in the past five years I art directed at Cartoon Network a show called My Gym Partner’s a Monkey and have been a background paint supervisor for Marvel Animation. Currently I am an art directing for Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated at WB Animation. Having a background painting foundation gives me the experience I need to direct color and lighting and painting style for the the show.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Every time I’m on a project I think that this is the one I’m most excited about and put my all into it. You have to have that attitude about your work. When I do a personal painting I think this is gonna be my best painting I’ve ever done. So right now I am most excited about Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. It is the best Scooby Doo series so far and I’m proud to be a part of it.I was proud to be working on the last few Marvel dvd releases. Planet Hulk, Hulk Vs and yet to be released Thor: Tales of Asgard. Before that on My Gym Partner’s a Monkey, there were some shows I was proud to pull together as an AD and the painting style I enjoyed. What is your name and your current occupation?

Shaun Cashman and currently I’m the Supervising Director on a new Disney series being produced at Titmouse, Inc. called “Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja”!

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation? Before animation I was a working artist back East in Connecticut, working at a newspaper in the advertising and marketing department designing ads, campaigns and marketing materials and doing some freelance illustrations as well. But right out of art school I was a construction laborer for a few years, short-order cook, worked in a retail and also ran lights and the sound board for a couple of local, hometown bands on the weekends. I did have a brush with the world of film production when I was an Associate Producer, sound man, 2nd unit photographer, set builder and driver for a small live-action company.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Right off the bat, my first gig in the business was on “The Simpson’s” and I was lucky enough at that time to have been at Film Roman when Phil Roman still ran the place and it was a place where you had opportunity to learn, advance and grow, especially on that show. I came on 5th Season in 1993 with NO actual animation production experience and eventually worked my way up through the ranks of being able to direct my first episode and from that point I was offered to direct fulltime on “King Of The Hill”, also being produced at Film Roman.
