What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Lamont Wayne and I’m a freelance Flash animator.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I was in sales related jobs for 10 years.   I’ve sold burial plots. advertising, cars, newspaper subscription renewals, done fundraising…  I’ve even sold vacuum cleaners door to door.  I’ve got the most crazy stories from the vacuum sales.  Here’s one of the crazier stories:

Well, I was running a crew of 5 salesmen up in Waynesboro, Virginia.  Day was going pretty good so far.  It was near the end of the day and everybody on my crew had sold.  We were really focusing on a certain cul-de-sac in a beautiful neighborhood.  Most of the sales were on that street.I was writing up the contract in one house when the lady of the house said “Have you knocked on that house across the street?”  I said no, we couldn’t get an answer there, why?  She said “A serial killer lives over there.”  See, they’re kinda like child molestors in so much as that when Continue reading

Matthew Augustine

What is your name and your current occupation?
Matthew Augustine.  I am a Flash artist and animator for Age of Learning.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Well, this is my first full time job, actually.  During high school and part of college I worked at Del Taco.  While in college I also worked at Disneyland as a night shift custodian for a short time.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Well, the main one is with my current job.  We made and still maintain a children’s website.  It has educational games and lots of fun stuff for young kids to do.  I do a lot of animation for the games and for the interface.  I also designed and drew a lot of the characters in the games and the different collectibles and prizes you can get on the site.
How did you become interested in animation?

Mike Geiger

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Mike Geiger and just finished up a pilot for a pre-school show called “Napkin Man” with a company called “Little Tugboat”.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Not that it was really a “job”, but I was an amateur skateboarder for the majority of my teens.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Wow, there are lots. I spent some wonderful time in Vancouver animating under Bob Jaques on the Ren and Stimpy show which definitely helped me develop as an animator and artist early on. We had a blast making episodes of a series called “Yamroll” up in Sudbury Ontario, and more recently, Ive had the pleasure of working with Chuck Gammage on a project that we are developing together. I feel Ive been really lucky to have worked with some unbelievable mentors.
How did you become interested in animation?

Patrick Reyntens

What is your name and your current occupation?
I’m Patrick Reyntens, an animator/designer from Antwerp, Belgium.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I checked tiny parts for helicopters. I had to push a button if the part was faulty, but I never pushed the button. The company went bankrupt 3 months after I left. I once had to crush slightly deformed potato chips for pigs. For half a year or so I gave drawing classes to prisoners. I once made a caricature of a prisoner. Him in a ballerina outfit. Afterwards I found out he was a pedophile…I guess that’s why that was the last time I saw him. The last lesson, one of the prisoners wanted to give me a goodbye party and dropped a bag of marijuana on the table and started to distribute joints to his buddies. That was weird, but what could I do, they were already in prison…

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I worked on a show called ‘Staines down drains’ in New Zealand. The show was really funny. I worked on numerous projects after that as an animator and designer. Please check out check out my blog to see what I’ve been up to.

What is you’re name and current occupation?Karly MacDonald,I am a character design artist .
How did you become interested in animation?
I always liked drawing and painting from the time I was a child. Growing up watching lots of Disney and Don Bluth, animation was a natural career choice.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business? 
I am from Fox Point Nova Scotia, Canada. After graduating from animation school in Toronto, I was soon hired by a local animation studio doing character design.

Chance Raspberry

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Chance Raspberry. I’m a character layout artist on The Simpsons, and am currently producing my own animated projects.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
In high school, I was hired by two soccer coaches to design their brochure.  They paid me $300, so I worked on it during 3rd period art class.  My first full-time job was as a customer service phone rep at Washington Mutual Bank (now Chase.)

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of? 
The industry gigs I’ve worked on have been a great honor, and I’m proud to say I was a part of them all.  These include The Simpsons TV series (Seasons 18-22), The Simpsons Movie, Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends (Christmas Special – “A Lost Claus”), Rob Zombie’s: The Haunted World of El Super Beasto, and the second Family Guy trading card series.
How did you become interested in animation?
