Hi! My name is Ersi Spathopoulou, and right now I’m working as a conceptual artist for a 2d animation educational game, called “Run Marco” and developed by allcancode team, www.allcancode.com

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I worked as an assistant theater stage designer right after finishing my studies. But that ain’t really crazy..is it? L. Sorry, no crazy stories here! Stage design was more like a first step required by my “fate” of ending up in the animation industry, working as a background painter.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?Most definitely the website at www.animad.gr, which was created by animad team, of which I was a co-founder. And right now, my favorite project is the “Run Marco” educational game that makes me really proud of being a member and co-founder of the allcancode team. You should check out both!

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Let’s see: I was a Locksmith, I worked for UPS loading and unloading the trucks, I worked at In-N-Out Burgers, I drew maps for the Division Od Oil And Gas (oil fields,) for the State of California, I worked at a Mexican spices and candy factory, and I was in the U.S. Army for 10 years. Thank you Uncle Sam for paying for my College with the G.I. Bill!

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Dora The Explorer. I was hired to help in the re-design of the show, including developing the look for Diego, Go! Diego! The very successful spin-off show. I also Art Directed another spin-off from Dora The Explorer called Explorer Girls.

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Beatriz Iglesias and I work as an Artist at Kandor Graphics Studio, at Granada, Spain. I work as freelance illustrator too.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Cat trainer and Coke addict are considered jobs?

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m very proud of having participated in “Justin and the Knights of Valour”, Kandor’s latest animaded featured film and I’ve enjoyed very much illustrating several children books. I have fun too drawing for a couple of illustrator collectives such as “Girls Drawing Girls” or “The Autumn Society Spain”.  Lately I have taken part of many exhibitions too and that’s very cool too.

My name is Wei-Chuan Hsu (people call me Wei, pronounced “way”). My current occupation is a freelance animator / generalist.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I worked as a receptionist at the president’s office at my College and I would play WarCraft III at the desk.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?It’s almost impossible for me to work on a project I’m not excited about. So if you see me working on a project, most likely I’m at least 90% excited about it. Some of my favorites are TRON: Legacy, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (TV), FXGURU and Mythic Journey Documentary.

My name is Christo Stamboliev and my current job is a Storyboards Artist on “Monsters Vs. Aliens”

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Before starting in Animation I didn’t have another jobs. I was basicly preoccupied with my education and after graduation I landed a job in Klasky Csupo’s Animation Studio in Los Angeles. As a student I did few freelance jobs as an illustrator and some other odd stuff /working in factories or farm work for a week or two/ but nothing crazy.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
My absolute favorite is “The Penguins of Madagascar” where I was an Animation Director on season 2 and 3 and won 2 Emmys for my work. Another absolute favorite was working with Igor Kovalyov on his two short films “Milch” and “Flying Nansen”. Igor is one of the most tallanted people I have ever met and I absolutely adore him.
