DHX MEDIA ANNOUNCES DHX STUDIOS

New 60,000 square-foot animation studio under construction in Vancouver

Halifax, NS, 29 January 2016 – DHX Media (“DHX” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: DHXM; TSX: DHX.A, DHX.B), a global leader in kids and family entertainment content, announces the rebranding of its content-creation arm to DHX Studios – dedicated to developing and producing the highest quality, original content in both animation and live action for kids and families. DHX is also building a brand new 60,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art animation studio in Vancouver, to consolidate its West Coast production operations of approximately 700 personnel. The new facility is slated for completion in December 2016.

DHX Studios unites development, production and interactive under a veteran management team, led by Asaph Fipke as Chief Content Officer, and Ken Faier in the role of Senior Vice President and General Manager. In addition, Kirsten Newlands is Senior Vice President, Animation Production; Stephanie Betts is Vice President, Development and Current Series; Logan McPherson is Vice President, Creative – Animation Production; Phillip Stamp is Vice President, Current Production, Halifax; Tracey Jardine is Vice President, Live Action. LA-based Josh Fisher recently joined the company as Vice President, Creative Affairs, reporting to Stephanie Betts. DHX Studios will report to DHX Media’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Steven DeNure, and will drive the development and production of original animated and live action content for the Company’s world renowned library, and continue to partner with key content creators around the globe.

 CENSING DEALS TO BRING MORE THAN 1,300 ADDITIONAL HALF-HOURS TO DHX TELEVISION

Halifax, NS & Glendale, CA, 8 December 2015 – DHX Media (“DHX” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: DHXM; TSX: DHX.A, DHX.B), a key player internationally in the creation of content for families and children, and DreamWorks Animation (NASDAQ: DWA), a leading family entertainment company, have entered into a five-year agreement to co-produce 130 episodes of original animated children’s content at DHX Studios. Content under the deal will air on DHX Television’s suite of channels, which includes Family Channel, Family Jr., Family CHRGD and Télémagino. DHX will handle distribution for the content in Canada and DWA will distribute to the rest of the world.

In addition, DHX Media has licensed more than 1,000 half-hours of television programming from DreamWorks Animation, to be broadcast beginning as early as June 2016 across DHX Television’s channels. DHX Television will thus become the exclusive television network for this DreamWorks Animation television content in Canada. Series coming to the network include All Hail King Julien, The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show, Dragons: Race to the Edge, The Croods, and many others.

DHX Media has also entered into an agreement with AwesomenessTV, which is majority owned by DWA, to license 300 half-hours of teen content for exclusive broadcast in Canada on Family Channel. AwesomenessTV is a multi-platform media company that is a global leader in producing content for the Gen Z audience. The series included in the agreement will air on Family Channel’s previously announced evening teen block, F2N, which launches in January 2016, anchored by DHX’s Degrassi: Next Class. DHX will also handle distribution for the AwesomenessTV content in Canada, including SVOD and OTT.

The world’s greatest superspy, Danger Mouse, returns in dashing, globe-spanning style with a new animated series that features all the classic characters, catchphrases and comedy that made it an 80’s cult favorite. With the world once more teetering on the edge of disaster, the small but heroic secret agent is back to thrill a whole new generation of fans as he attempts to overthrow a host of villainous rivals with the help of hapless hamster Penfold and a collection of state-of-the-art gadgetry and vehicles. Originally a loose parody of British spy fiction, this new Danger Mouse series will feature British actor and comedian, Stephen Fry, as Colonel K. Everyone’s favorite bumbling bionic detective, Inspector Gadget, is back in an all new CGI animated series. Dr. Claw has reactivated his global crime syndicate MAD and Inspector Gadget must stop him! Backed up by his niece, Penny, her dog Brain, and an arsenal of high-tech gadgetry, the lovable Gadget fights crime as only he can. The 26-episode series, produced by DHX Media (TSX: DHX.A, DHX.B), premieres exclusively in the U.S. on Netflix this March and will join the service at a later date in Latin America, the U.K., Ireland, Benelux, France and the Nordics – after the initial broadcast in each country.

Bottersnikes & Gumbles – Spring 2016

Bottersnikes & Gumbles is a fast-paced community comedy series that follows the adventures of three young Gumbles -Tink, Bounce and Willi – as they bounce about and play while avoiding getting tin-canned by their lazy and grumpy neighbors, the Bottersnikes. Developed and adapted from the much loved Bottersnikes & Gumbles books, this new CGI-animated series is created by Cheeky Little, Mighty Nice and CAKE and co-commissioned by Netflix, BBC and Channel 7 Australia. The first 13 episode season will debut exclusively on Netflix around the world in 2016, with the UK and Australia launching at a later date.

SUPER4

In addition, SUPER 4, a brand new CGI animated series inspired by PLAYMOBIL®, makes its U.S. premiere in April exclusively on Netflix. SUPER 4 follows four main characters—Alex the Knight, Ruby the Pirate, Agent Gene, and Twinkle the Fairy— as they explore the distinct islands of their planet, fight bad guys, and have fun along the way.

In 2011, Netflix launched a dedicated section for kids under 12 years old featuring TV shows and movies from great partners like PBS, Disney Channel, DreamWorks, Cartoon Network, Mattel, Hasbro, Lego and Scholastic, all in a commercial free environment. In 2012, Netflix and the Walt Disney Company signed an industry-first agreement making Netflix the Pay TV home of all live action and animated feature films released by Disney theatrically beginning in 2016. Members are provided a kids profile upon sign up and can customize additional profiles for their kids. DHX MEDIA TO ACQUIRE NERD CORPS

Deal adds experienced team, animation capacity and library titles

Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, London. 2.12.2014. DHX Media, a key player internationally in the creation of content for families and children, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Vancouver-based Nerd Corps Entertainment Inc. and its subsidiaries for approximately $57 million. The transaction is anticipated to close by December 24, 2014.

The acquisition increases DHX’s operating leverage, adding Nerd Corps’ animation studio in Vancouver, BC, which features five lines of production, as well as Nerd Corps’ interactive apps, gaming expertise, and licensing opportunities with Nerd Corps’ brands. The transaction brings more than 200 half hours of proprietary children’s content to DHX’s library, including the hit comedy adventure series, Slugterra, which has been broadcast in more than 150 countries and is one of the most popular titles on Disney XD in both Canada and the US. The deal includes licensing and distribution rights for all proprietary Nerd Corps series. The acquisition will increase DHX’s staff level in Vancouver from approximately 300 to 700 personnel.
