What is your name and current occupation?
My name is Tyree Dillihay and I’m an assistant director on season 2 of Bob’s Burgers. I have two series coming out that I worked on as a Director premiering on Fox and MTV the same week. Â Good Vibes premieres on MTV, Thursday October 27th after the return of BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD and Allen Gregory, which was created by Jonah Hill premieres on FOX October 30th at 8:30. Â I directed two episodes on each of these shows.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Fortunately, I’ve only had 2 9-5s before getting into animation and they weren’t bad at all. My first one was doing customer service for a skin care company. My second job, which was my reason for leaving the skin care company, was helping my mother start and run what became our family business of setting up facilities that service developmentally disabled people.
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
My favorites so far have been the projects where I was given creative autonomy. And ironically, those were not only fulfilling for me, but were huge successes for those that hired me. Projects like “Read A Book” and “Disrespectoids” were very fun projects to work on. “Disrespectoids” is probably my favorite because myself and a writer, Dan Clark, scripted out the cartoons the OLD way…VISUALLY. We literally sat in a room and had jam sessions with 10 characters to play with and just played “What if…?” for about 2 weeks on a dry erase board before animation started.
How did you become interested in animation?

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting (as they are wont to do) that Waterman Entertainment, the animation and live-action production company, has acquired the Burbank-based animation company Film Roman from Starz, it was announced today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Film Roman is one of the defining names in animated content,â€Â Waterman said in announcing the acquisition.  “Their track record is unparalleled and their team’s passion for executing top-shelf animation is evident in every frame they’ve created. Once it became clear how thoroughly our companies’ assets complemented each other, this deal was almost a foregone conclusion.
Dana Booton, who has been serving as Film Roman’s general manager, has been promoted to president of production. She will continue to oversee the company’s day-to-day business while also managing development and co-productions. Phil Roman, who founded Film Roman in 1984, is returning in the role of chairman emeritus and has been working with Booton and Waterman founder Steve Waterman.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting intoanimation?
My first job, I worked as a kids counselor at a summer camp when I was 14. I was incharge of twenty 6 year old kids every week. Looking back on it I’mnot quite sure how I did that but I did it with joy. I once was asked to dress up as a feltfilm strip character in front of a boardroom full of people, selling itas a brand hallmark for a movie theater chain, I forget which one, for$100 while in art school. Needless to say it was very embarrassing atthe time as a teenager.
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been apart of?
