I worked for a special affects company and out of no where I was in charge of the vomit rig on this movie set. It was crazy!

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I used to co-owner a clothing line called Level 27 Clothing that was sold in Hot Topic and I also worked with Disney about having our new line launch at Disney’s Vault 28 store at Downtown Disney. It was a lot of work and I was very proud of it.

How did you become interested in animation?

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I had a LOT of jobs, mostly when I was younger—sold meat from a  truck (or rather “gourmet foods”), swept sewer waste into a little drain hole as groundskeeper when I was 15.  The craziest job though was selling copiers!  AAAGGGH!!!
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m proudest of my animated series, Dr. Shroud—-aside from that, I have been a part of several good projects with some network professionals.  I’ve had a good combination of pitches and service work, but I am most proud of my own stuff.  🙂

How did you become interested in animation?
It was really by default.  In 2000, I had a comic book version of Dr. Shroud and friends turned me onto Flash.  I was addicted (and Continue reading

There are crazier jobs than this?!

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m incredibly proud to be contributing to Kaijudo, the story editors Henry Gilroy and Andrew Robinson have created such a rich and unique world, it’s awesome to be writing one of the chapters for them.
How did you become interested in animation?
I started in live-action. Then I wrote a spec called R-A-M: Rogue Alien Mutation. It was sort of a King Kong in space story and my agent at ICM at the time sent it to Shaun McLaughlin at the WB. Shaun suggested it could make a great animated feature. That’s when I realized that Continue reading

What is your name and your current occupation?

My name is Heber Alvarado and I am working proffesionally as a Senior Artist with Microsoft Game Studios. I also freelance on film projects and teach character modeling at local schools from time to time.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I had a couple jobs in high school but the craziest one was working in a warehouse driving a pallet jack  (like a mini forklift of sorts) you were basically lifting heavy boxes all day and had to make a “daily quota” or you would be fired. Needless to say I was there about 5 days into it when I crashed my pallet jack into a large beam that had lots of boxes full of eggs stacked on top. It was a disaster , a domino effect if you will. After getting chewed out by the supervisor over it and having to clean it up I decided I was never going to work that type of job ever again, lucky to say I never did.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Recently wrapped up a couple of cinematic trailers for a client (Saints Row 3 and Rift) that is pretty recent work and It proved very rewarding, got to work with close friends on them and learn a lot from them as well.  Before that it would have to be when Continue reading
