What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Caue Zunchini, I’m a Freelance Animation Artist (Background Design and Painter, Character Design, Storyboard, 2D Digital Animation, Clean Up and Illustrator). And an art collector lover (action figures, books, dvds, posters and etc).

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Just one. When I was young I used to work in a gift company testing pens like an assembling line, checking the ink and testing on a paper. I used to test more than 1000 pens per day, It was really exaustive and boring hahahahah.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
All these shows are from Brazil, so probably many people from other countries don’t know Fudencio e Seus Amigos season 6 – MTV Brazil (2009  Popota – pilot (2010) Gui e Estopa season 3 (2011-2012)

 

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Tad Butler and I am a freelance storyboard artist and illustrator.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I guess the craziest job would be operating a cigarette tax stamping machine for a wholesale food and tobacco product distributor. I have also worked as a route salesman for a health and beauty aids distributor, an assistant web press operator, a bus driver and a retail sales associate to name a few.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I am very proud to have been a part of making the film, Alone Yet Not Alone. It is a period film set during the French and Indian and tells the remarkable true story of one young girl’s faith, courage and determination to reunite her family that has been torn apart by the war.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?

FlavorWire has a cool post up showing storyboard examples of 15 classic movies such as Spartacus (above), Taxi Driver, Star Wars, Jaws and many others.

Hitchcock was one of the first studio directors to rely heavily on storyboards in production of his films. He would map out his distinctive set pieces using storyboards — those cool drawings that show exactly what will be in the frame, and any movements the camera might make — and would then create them on set, often shot for shot. Hitchock wasn’t the first to do it, but he was an enthusiastic and consistent early adopter, and the filmmakers who followed with an eye for sharp camerawork (from Scorsese and Spielberg to the Coens and Nolan) frequently do the same. With storyboards on our mind lately thanks to their use in both the opening sequence and the climax of Argo, we decided to put together a gallery of some of our favorite storyboards from iconic movies. (Special thanks to the folks behind the “Drawing Board” column of the DGA Quarterly, where we found several of the storyboards to follow.)

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Andrew Dickman, I’m currently a storyboard artist

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Before I got into the industry I took a lot of freelance jobs doing flash animation for several clients who liked my work. I remember taking a job in Hollywood to do flash animation for a studio I can’t remember the name of. It felt even though I was an amateur coming into the studio, I was teaching them how to prepare everything for flash animation. My job there was very short lived and I felt they didn’t know exactly what they were doing. I have no idea if the project went through but it was a very odd moment for me. Around the same time I did an animated music video for a band in Germany, which I heard made it to television over there but there’s little I really know for certain. I seem to have done a lot of flash animated music videos at the time for both myself and other clients, it seemed to be a thing I wanted to do until I found my Continue reading

Rob Renzetti – Supervising Producer on “Gravity Falls” at Disney Television.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I was a Locker Room Attendant at the County Pool and an Ice Cream Man

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part
of?
I’ve been very lucky and worked on a bunch of things that I love. Some favorites are Dexter’s Lab, the Oh Yeah Cartoons Shorts and my own show My Life as a Teenage Robot.

How did you become interested in animation?
I would beg my Mom to draw cartoon characters that I would then color and she would cut out so I could play with them. They did not last long. One day she got tired of the constant demand for ‘fresh’ paper dolls and told me to draw them myself. I never stopped drawing

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I’m from Addison, Illinois – 30 minutes outside of Chicago. I came out to attend Calarts after getting my bachelors degree in Art History at University of Illinois. I got hired at HB to work on “2 Stupid Dogs” as a storyboard artist.
