What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Nelson Recinos I am an animation producer, line producer, director, creative director, art director, and creator. I also clean my home office and take care of everything that’s needed on the projects I am working on.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
One of my first jobs was painting motorcycle helmets. I thought that, because of my art background, I was going to be able to do the job, but it was not as easy as I thought. I got training and after a few days I started working on production…which didn’t go very well. I messed up a few helmets, paint spilled everywhere, and nothing was evenly painted. The manager was understandably pissed, but moved me to another department instead of firing me. What a nice guy!

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I had the opportunity to work on some amazing shows such a Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs. I also animated some of the Warner Bros. classic characters such as Bugs Bunny, Duffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester, and many others.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation? 
I started working in Animation early. I was 19 right out of college. Prior to that I rented movies in a country convenience store in rural Ontario and worked at Enerlad Links Golf Club. Wasn’t much time to do too many crazy jobs I was busy with highschool.What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?

None, I started working in the animation field at the age of 18.

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Uriel Mimran, I’m an animator. Currently doing sheet timing on a TV show.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Not many really. I did work in an insurance company one summer when I was in high school, which is not much. Boring. Oh yes, I worked a few days at a bakery, to help out a girlfriend.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
There are many. I’d say Nocturna, which is a project I really wanted to work on. I litterally tracked them down after seeing the pilot, and was extremely lucky they had a french co-producer. Then Lucky Luke, where the animation director handed me quite a lot of the horse character, Jolly Jumper. I got to animate whole sequences by myself. To finish, the Illusionnist, which was probably THE most challenging project I ever worked on. I think I had to learn animation all over again during this production.

 

How did you become interested in animation?
Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s, I got to see all kinds of animation on TV and at the movies. At that time, they showed everything from Anime to Disney, WB and Tex Avery cartoons. I think what really Continue reading

Eddie Fitzgerald: storyboard artist.

Past Crazy Jobs:
 Crazy jobs? Hmmmm. Well, when I got out of school I washed  dishes, bussed tables and was an agricultural worker. None of those jobs paid  very much but I learned something valuable from each one, and I don’t regret the  experience. My first art jobs had to do with designing menus, letterheads and  all that, and that paid even less than dishwashing, because the clients were  always changing their minds.
Favorite Projects?
 I have lots of favorites, but I guess the very best one was  doing the “Tales of Worm Paranoia” short for Cartoon Network. There’s no high in  the world like doing a cartoon of your own. I traveled the world as a jazz saxophonist. I got to play with Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Gerry Mulligan amd Brad Mehldau among many others.
